Speaking & Consulting
For sport teams, sport organizations, coaches, parents and therapists
Performance is only part of the story…
I partner with athletes, coaches, parents, teams, athletic departments, and sport organizations through speaking engagements, consulting, and team-based workshops.
-
Educational and experiential workshops designed to help athletes and teams improve performance through greater self-awareness, resilience, communication, mindset, and nervous system regulation in high-performance environments.
-
Strategic guidance for athletic departments, sport organizations, and performance-driven workplaces focused on building healthier, more sustainable performance environments. Areas include mental health and wellness strategy, stress management, trauma-informed culture, and nervous system-informed approaches to performance and wellbeing.
-
Keynotes, presentations, and educational workshops for athletes, coaches, parents, athletic departments, conferences, and sport organizations. Topics include athlete mindset and mental health, post-sport mental health, resilience and trauma, identity, stress and performance culture, and nervous system regulation.
-
One-on-one consultation for therapists working with athletes or high-performance clients seeking support integrating sport culture, trauma-informed care, and nervous system awareness into their clinical practice.
-
Keynote speaking that bridges performance, mental health, and nervous system science, helping audiences understand how sport culture, identity, and chronic stress shape the way we think, feel, and recover. I draw from my background as a former Division I athlete, coach, and trauma-informed therapist to translate these ideas into practical, human, and actionable insights for athletes, teams, and high-performance environments.

My speaking, consulting and team work is educational, experiential, and grounded in sport culture, high performance and the nervous system…
Sessions are designed to be engaging, practical, and reflective, not just informational. I aim to create space for athletes, coaches, and sport leaders to slow down, reflect, and better understand what’s happening beneath performance.
Depending on the engagement, this may include psychoeducation, guided discussion, individual and small group activities, and interactive mind body practices that help translate insight into real-time application in training, competition, and team environments.
At the core of my work is a simple goal: to help people in sport understand themselves and each other more clearly, so that performance and wellbeing can exist in the same space.
“I have had the privilege of working with Emily at my current program at Villanova University and my previous program at Campbell University. She has made a resounding impact with our team and individuals in our teams. She understands there’s not a one size fits all mindset when it comes to a student-athletes mental journey. She also understands and can relate the competitive and the human aspect to their experience. We have found that her ability to teach our players to navigate stress, to understand it, appraise it, and address it, has provided significant short term benefits to our student athletes health and well being, as well as long term benefits to their competitive nature.”
-Samar Azem, Head Coach, Villanova Women's Soccer
"Emily came to St. John's for a couple days at the beginning of our spring sports season. She met with our middle school and high school, student-athletes and coaches. There were small and large group workshops where mental health was our focus. The thoughtful conversation, clear presentation, and meaningful reflection, were all thanks to Emily's professionalism and care she has around the topic of mental health. As a school, we're extremely grateful for Emily taking the time to come on campus and share her information and resources with us."
-Jameson Pelkey, Director of Athletics, St. Johns Prep
